I wonder what you get if you order a black windshield frame?
A
can of spraypaint and masking tape?

They really put in the extra work for the windshield frame... Oh wait

You get nothing. Pretty sure the frames were all black from the factory. Unless they updated it at some point

Upon further investigation , they are body colored under a tape layer! The factory used tape to cover up blemishes on all models!

FYI black tape was standard from 00 to ... 05?

I did not know that. I figured they saved themselves some time and just painted everything black.
Just think - for the rest of my life I might not have known it was red underneath some tape on my dad’s ‘00
Looks like early on there were some sanding blemishes that were covered under the tape, but later ones had good results from removing the tape and not uncovering any sanding marks

Google image search seems to show an equal number of black and color coded frames.
According to a S2000 forum, they are all painted and then covered in black tape, which a lot of people peel off
